John Daly is among the most popular players in golf - and not just because of his game.

The former University of Arkansas standout is a major champion. However, he's perhaps just as well known for his flashy outfits, his drinking and eating, and much more. Daly has probably had more fun than just about anyone else on the history of the PGA Tour.

Unfortunately, it's been catching up to him.

Daly, 58, revealed that he's come close to dying several times. He has not been doing well in the health department over the years, which is not good.

"I didn't think I'd been out here for three decades," Daly said in a video shared by the PGA Tour Champions. "I've only been dead 11 times. I'm like Lazarus. I just keep coming back from the dead.

"That's when I could actually play the game."

Daly, who is teeing it up at The Galleri Classic, underwent emergency surgery on his hand earlier this year. He has undergone 16 surgeries in the last four years due to tangled tendons.

The professional golf star had also previously been dealing with bladder cancer.

"It was scary," Daly said during an appearance on the "Like a Farmer Podcast."

"I was peeing blood, pukin' blood. ... I thought my back was killing me, and I didn't know. And I went in Little Rock, got a checkup and everything on my back and then, was it a neurologist? Doctor saw it and said, 'You gotta come back.'"

In all, Day has been struggling in the health department. Golf fans are hoping that'll change.

"Love this dude! I'm sure it's closer to 20 times John! Don't be modest!" one fan wrote.

"You only die if you choose that it be so. Life provides opportunities to live and we must equally choose that if we wish to be living," one fan added.

"John is 58 and still chain smoking and drinking and he's grossly overweight but still golfing and having fun , but it's starting to really drag his health down now, too bad he can't stop smoking at least," another fan added.

"Smoke and drink only so many can handle it," another fan added.

Hopefully, Daly is on the right track now and will not be dealing with so many health issues moving forward.
