Georgetown Hoops Coach Heard Yelling NSFW Line at Fan About Being Rich

Georgetown Hoyas head coach Ed Cooley fired back at a trolling Seton Hall student at the end of the Hoyas' seventh straight loss Wednesday night.

Cooley, who has been the target of jabs from most opposing fanbases after leaving Providence for Georgetown in the offseason, finally decided to punch back. According to Jerry Carino of the Asbury Park Press, a Seton Hall student yelled at Cooley that the coach was being paid "$7 million per win," in reference to the coach's reported $35 million contract signed in the offseason. Cooley then yelled back with a smile, "You know what, I'm rich as a motherf---er. I'm rich as s---."

Cooley later explained his comments after the game in a postgame media session. He said he wasn't bothered by the heckles and made the retort just to "have some fun".

"Kids are going to be kids. I have a problem when adults don't act like adults," Cooley said, per Carino's postgame story. "When they're students, say whatever you want. I always try to have a good interaction with the kids. You know what, they deserve a comment every now and then, they do. Why not have some fun with them? The game was over, and you know what, they all got a pretty good chuckle out of it."

But Cooley's lighthearted response didn't slow down the avalanche of takes about his comments by Big East fans.
