With Justin Fields signed and the Aaron Rodgers era officially in the rearview mirror, Jets football is going to look a lot different in 2025. But wide receiver Garrett Wilson seems excited about what's to come for his team.

New York inked Wilson's former Ohio State teammate to a two-year, $40 million contract last week — granting the young star his wish of being reunited with his first college quarterback.

Back in 2022, Wilson talked about the idea of teaming up with Fields again ahead of the NFL Draft when the 26-year-old QB was still in Chicago.

"If that would happen, that would be awesome," Wilson said at the time. "I haven't really thought about where I'd be playing. Anywhere would be a blessing. Definitely, to link back up with Justin — and to do that on the NFL level — would be a dream come true, for sure."

And now according to ESPN's Rich Cimini, the former Offensive Rookie of the Year couldn't be happier about the Jets' recent signing.

"Wilson has told friends he's thrilled with the addition of Fields," Cimini reported. "It's no secret that he and Rodgers didn't see eye to eye last season, but now he has a quarterback he knows and respects. They've maintained a good relationship, another reason Wilson is said to be excited about 2025."

Wilson has always reportedly spoken glowingly about his relationship with Fields and how the former No. 11 pick conducted himself as the leader of the offense in Columbus.

"Even when we thought we weren't going to have a season, he kept the spirit up and always kept us prepared to go," Wilson said of Fields during the COVID-shortened season a handful of years ago. "He made sure the receivers were getting their work in. When the season came around and we got to play, I felt like it came together really well because of those reasons."

It hasn't been the smoothest of careers at the next level for Fields thus far. But having Wilson and ex-OSU tight end Jeremy Rucker to throw to could help his transition to the Big Apple.
