Despite leading the Los Angeles Lakers on back-to-back playoff trips and even a trip to the Western Conference Finals last year, Darvin Ham will no longer be the head coach of the Lakers moving forward.

On Friday, NBA insiders Shams Charania and Jovan Buha revealed that the Lakers are parting ways with Ham after two years at the helm. His final record was 90-74.

As for Ham's potential replacement, Charania floated four names that are believed to be under consideration by the organization. Mike Budenholzer, Kenny Atkinson, JJ Redick make three, while the team has interest in Clippers head coach Tyronn "Ty" Lue.

"The Los Angeles Lakers have parted ways with coach Darvin Ham, and sources tell me and @jovanbuha an extensive search will commence soon, with candidates such as Mike Budenholzer, Kenny Atkinson, JJ Redick and, if he becomes available, Ty Lue among others," Charania wrote.

Budenholzer led the Milwaukee Bucks to an NBA title in 2021 and won four more rings as an assistant for the San Antonio Spurs. He is 484-317 as a head coach.

Atkinson won an NBA title as an assistant to the Golden State Warriors in 2022 and led the Brooklyn Nets to the playoffs once in four years at the helm. He is 118-190 as a head coach.

Redick has never been an NBA coach in any capacity before but is a 15-year NBA veteran.

Lue won two NBA titles with the Lakers alongside Shaq and Kobe and coached LeBron James and the Cleveland Cavaliers to an NBA title in 2016. He is 312-217 as a head coach.

Will any of these four be the next head coach of the Lakers?
