A lot is riding on this Saturday's Commanders-Lions game.

A berth in the NFC Championship Game is on the line and the Lions are looking to make their second consecutive NFC Title Game. Meanwhile, the Commanders are trying to make their first NFC Title Game since the 1991 season when they beat the Buffalo Bills in Super Bowl XXVI.

Commanders rookie quarterback Jayden Daniels has had an outstanding rookie season and will need to be at his best if the Commanders want to upset the top-seeded Lions.

ESPN's Ryan Clark thinks that if the Commanders can pull off that upset, Daniels would be "immortal."

"He's immortal," Clark said. "It's the greatest rookie season of all time and the other piece of it is this though, there will never be one that equals it."

It's a bold statement from Clark but nobody can deny how great Daniels has been this season. He has changed the trajectory of the Commanders organization and is their first franchise quarterback in a long time.

He finished the regular season with 3,568 yards through the air, 25 touchdowns, and nine interceptions. Even though he's a rookie, he's able to see the field and manage the pocket like a 10-year veteran.

Daniels has all of the tools that are needed to be a long-term quarterback in the NFL and has taken this team from the basement of the NFL to the final eight of the playoffs.

It's been a remarkable turnaround for a franchise that's done a lot of losing over this last decade but it's a new era for the Commanders and their fans. Getting a new ownership group has also injected the fanbase and team with new life over the past year.

Kickoff for Saturday's matchup will be at 8 p.m. ET on FOX. Kevin Burkhardt and Tom Brady will have the call.
