Meet The Star Of Lions Detroit Lions Cheer Squad (1:02)

At one point in time, Katie Nolan was viewed as one of the up-and-coming stars in sports media.

After getting her start as a blogger, Nolan earned her big break in 2013 when she joined Fox Sports as a digital correspondent. As her star began rising, she earned bigger opportunities at the network, ultimately landing her own show, Garbage Time, which ran for nearly two full years from March 2015-February 2017. In October 2017, Nolan was hired by ESPN, where she made guest appearances on several major shows and later secured her own podcast and ESPN+ series.

When her show at ESPN was cancelled, Nolan moved on to brief stints at NBC Sports and Apple TV+, but eventually transitioned out of sports media. Now, she's on her way back.

In a new interview with Axios, Nolan, who turns 38 this month, revealed she is set to launch "Casuals," a SiriusXM podcast covering sports and culture.

"I've always said sports are for everybody, but I do think that sometimes the way that sports shows tend to talk about sports is not a way that's accessible to everybody," Nolan told Axios. "'Casuals' is basically a sports podcast for people who didn't think they would like a sports podcast or a sports podcast for people that just want to be entertained by sports."

"Casuals" is set to launch two weeks from today and will release episodes twice weekly.

On Tuesdays, Nolan will provide commentary on the week's top sports moments on and off the field, and on Thursday, she will host guests to discuss sports and other topics.

The show will be available on all major podcasting platforms, Nolan said.

Like we mentioned, Nolan was a major name thought to have a bright future in sports media as of a couple of years ago. It's cool seeing her get back involved now, and we're interested to see where she takes this new opportunity.
