Former England manager Gareth Southgate knighted in King's New Year's Honours list

Former England manager Gareth Southgate has been knighted in King Charles III’s New Year’s Honours list. Southgate led England to the semi-finals of the World Cup in 2018 and consecutive European Championship finals during his eight-year spell in charge. The 54-year-old resigned from the role in July after leading England to the final of Euro 2024, where they were beaten by Spain.
