The Michigan Wolverines haven't been the best team in the country this season, but they were big winners on the recruiting trail on Thursday.

Sherrone Moore and his staff were able to flip the top player in the class of 2025 to their program, taking five-star quarterback Bryce Underwood from Brian Kelly and the LSU Tigers.

Underwood committed to LSU nearly a year ago, choosing the Tigers with a verbal commitment back in January. Michigan never wavered, and offered Underwood an extremely lucrative NIL package believed to be valued at more than $10 million.

The Wolverines have had quarterback issues this season, with Davis Warren and Alex Orji failing to repeat the success J.J. McCarthy had in 2023.

After Underwood's surprising decision, college football fans around the country are reacting to the news.

"OMGGGG WE GOT HIMMMM THE PROGRAM IS SAVEDD DAWGG WE ARE BACK," said one excited Michigan fan.

"Unrelated but would anyone like to buy our entire book collection for $10.5 million," said an account representing Michigan's library.

"Congrats to the best I've ever seen at his age. This young man is amazing both on the field and off! Michigan got a real one. If they do right this kid wins the Heisman in 3 years, & is the #1 overall pick. Definitely a huge loss amongst many for LSU," said ESPN analyst and LSU Tiger Ryan Clark.

"Michigan produces the best QBs," said one fan, who accompanied their post with a photo of McCarthy and Tom Brady.

"The greatest silver lining in an otherwise disastrous season!! LFG!!!!!!," said another Michigan fan.

"2025 it's over for you all," yet another Michigan fan said.

"Can Bryce Underwood play tomorrow," said one Wolverines fan, desperate to see better play at the quarterback position.

Underwood was the second big name to announce a commitment decision on Thursday, joining another five-star quarterback in Julian Lewis, who committed to play for Deion Sanders at Colorado.

We'll see if Underwood and Lewis meet down the line in a potential College Football Playoff, as Michigan and Colorado are clearly the big winners on an important day in recruiting.
