Football Fans Loving Weather For Indiana-Notre Dame Playoff Game

The first game in the first-ever 12-team College Football Playoff kicks off in a few hours as the Notre Dame Fighting Irish host the Indiana Hoosiers and as excited as fans are for the game, they seem just as excited for the weather.
On Friday morning, Notre Dame's The Fighting Irish account on X posted a photo from Notre Dame Stadium, showing that there was some snowfall in South Bend, Indiana that covered the field - and was thick enough for someone to make a snowman too.
"Good morning from Notre Dame Stadium. #GoIrish," the school posted.

College football fans absolutely love the aesthetic of a snowy football game, which has gotten them pumped for the game:
"This absolutely rules. If you're not excited about College Football Playoff games on campus, then go play intramurals, brother," one user wrote on X.
"This is beautiful. Going to be an epic four hours of @CollegeGameDay today from South Bend," ESPN's Pete Thamel wrote.
"This is outstanding and makes tonight all that much more fun. The campus sites aspect of the first round in the CFP is one of my favorite parts of it. True home field atmospheres this late in the season is really cool," wrote a third.
Notre Dame and Indiana square off in a surprisingly rare battle between two of the Hoosier State's biggest football programs. Despite being only a few hours drive from each other, the Fighting Irish and Hoosiers haven't played each other since 1991.
That said, the previous 29 games between the program have been fairly one-sided with Notre Dame riding a six-game winning streak that goes all the way back to 1951. Indiana may have five wins against Notre Dame, but only one of those wins have come since the past 115 years.
But that isn't the reason that Notre Dame is favored by a touchdown in today's game. Notre Dame had a fairly tougher schedule than Indiana did in the regular season, beating four top 25 teams throughout the season, while Indiana lost their only game against a ranked foe.
That said, Notre Dame has the far more embarrassing loss between the two schools, losing to lowly Northern Illinois back in September.
The game will be played at 8 p.m. ET and will air on ABC.
