Florida quarterback DJ Lagway had to be carted off the field during Saturday's game against Georgia.

Lagway appeared to grab his hamstring after a play with about five minutes left in the second quarter. He couldn't stand on his own and had to be carted off the field.

Lagway is a freshman and has been starting in place of the injured Graham Mertz. He was one of the top recruits of the 2024 recruiting cycle and Florida fans were seeing why.

In seven games, Lagway has completed 62.8% of his passes for 1,024 yards through the air, five touchdowns, and five interceptions. He was the second-best quarterback recruit in the country and the seventh overall recruit in the nation for the 2024 class, per 247Sports composite rankings

At the time of his injury, he had completed two passes for 47 yards and a touchdown. He also had Florida up on Georgia and that's still the case even with Aidan Warner coming in to replace him.

Florida came into this game with a 4-3 record and is playing like a team with nothing to lose. The Gators are trying to pull off a major upset and really shake up the SEC title race.

A win for them would also go a long way toward fans being confident in head coach Billy Napier since he's had an up-and-down tenure over the last three seasons.
