Fans Are Nervous About Nebraska After 3 Straight Losses

Nebraska began the 2024 season with a lot of promise, winning their first three games. They lost to Illinois in their Big Ten conference opener, but responded well with wins over Purdue and Rutgers in subsequent weeks.
After going 5-1 in their first six games, the wheels appear to have fallen off for the Huskers. They've lost three straight games, culminating in Saturday's defeat against a 2-win UCLA team.
With three games left on the schedule, Nebraska fans are understandably worried. The team finished 5-7 last year, and with a chance to finish in the exact same spot this year, many are beginning to lose patience with second-year head coach Matt Rhule.
"Maybe Nebraska is just never meant to play in the postseason the rest of our lives," said Aaron Torres of Fox Sports.
Nebraska hasn't made a bowl game since 2016.

Last year they started 5-3, before losing 4 straight (three by a FG) to miss a bowl game.
This year they started 5-1 and have now lost 3 straight
Maybe Nebraska is just never meant to play in the postseason the rest of our lives🤷♂️
"Great another year where Nebraska is 5-3 and is gonna finish 5-7," one Huskers fan said.
"5-3 Nebraska upset by 3-5 UCLA. If you had told me 15 years ago that this would be a conference game, I'd have slapped you," said another fan.
"Nebraska is lucky to be 5-3, since our starting quarterback hasn't thrown a touchdown pass with the exception of the one he just threw today to UCLA," one fan said, referencing the pick six Dylan Raiola threw at the start of the second half.
"Nebraska is 5-3 and currently losing at home to UCLA. Huskers' remaining schedule: at USC, vs. Wisconsin, at Iowa. If they lose today, are we sure they're getting to 6-6?," another fan asked.
"Sucks to say, but Nebraska just isn't that good yet. We got lucky during Colorado (we still own them) but we've scraped by this year beating bad teams, now we're losing to one of the worst," one fan said, calling out the team.
As one fan mentioned, Nebraska will face USC, Wisconsin and Iowa to end the season. They only need to win one game out of the three in order to be bowl eligible for the first time since 2016.
We'll see if the Huskers can do enough to get to a bowl game this season - and potentially to save Rhule's job.
