Everyone Loves What Troy Aikman Said About Cowboys Failures

It's been nearly 30 years since Dallas Cowboys quarterback Troy Aikman led the franchise to their last NFC Championship Game and subsequent Super Bowl win. Amid all of their postseason failures since 1995, Aikman has opened up about their struggles. 

Speaking to reporters last week, Aikman said that he's confident that winning is extremely important to the people making decisions. He believes that everyone is doing their best and just doesn't know what's going wrong.

"I just know that the people in the building want to win more than anyone outside the building. I do know that. People are passionate and I know that as well. I do believe that whatever the decisions are that are made and however the team performs, they're doing everything they can to play their best. I don't know what (else) to tell ya," he said, throwing in a slight laugh at the end.

Fans loved this response in large part because Aikman appeared to do everything in his power not to put the blame directly at the feet of owner Jerry Jones, who has been the one making all of the big decisions for the Cowboys since parting ways with Jimmy Johnson back in 1994.

"Troy kind of sounds like he knows something," one user replied, adding a laughing emoji.

"I love Troy. He did everything he could not to (expletive) on the Joneses. But we all know why the Cowboys haven't won jack since 1995," wrote another.

"Jerry must still pay him," a third wrote.

Troy Aikman and Jerry Jones have been close for decades. The Hall of Fame quarterback isn't going to speak negatively about his close friend just to please some fans who he doesn't know.
