Women's basketball continues to grow substantially in the United States.

According to ESPN, SportsCenter with Scott Van Pelt had its largest audience ever after Iowa beat UConn in the Final Four on Friday.

6.3 million people watched SportsCenter with Van Pelt following Iowa's win. The show included highlights of the game, plus an interview with Iowa head coach Lisa Bluder.

The Hawkeyes were the talk of the country following that game since they advanced to the National Championship Game. It was also one heck of a contest that came down to the final second and involved a controversial foul call on the Huskies.

With less than 10 seconds remaining, Hawkeyes guard Gabbie Marshall drew an offensive foul on a moving screen. It led to many fans being upset with the call since there wasn't much there and because it was so late in the game.

Still, the Hawkeyes moved on to play the South Carolina Gamecocks in the National Championship Game before they lost, 87-75.

Even though the Hawkeyes lost, they helped grow women's basketball and make more fans of the sport. It's only going to keep growing as the seasons go by.
