ESPN's Computer Model Reveals Updated Final Four Prediction

03/29/2025 08:42 AM
The Elite Eight for the 2025 NCAA Tournament is already here. This weekend's schedule features exciting matchups in large part because all four No. 1 seeds are still alive.
Saturday's schedule will begin at 6:09 p.m. ET with Texas Tech and Florida. Although oddsmakers are favoring the Gators by a fairly big margin, we can't sleep on the Red Raiders. If JT Toppin plays at a high level tonight, they'll have a chance to pull off the upset.
The second game on the schedule this Saturday features Alabama and Duke. This should be a high-scoring matchup. While the spotlight will be on Cooper Flagg, fans shouldn't sleep on Mark Sears. The senior guard for the Crimson Tide is an exceptional scorer.
Sunday's slate for this year's Elite Eight is equally impressive. The afternoon game features Tennessee and Houston. The Volunteers will enter this game with a ton of confidence, especially after seeing Zakai Zeigler's performance in the Sweet 16.
The Elite Eight will conclude with Auburn and Michigan State on Sunday night. Despite Tom Izzo's dominance against the SEC, it seems like oddsmakers favor the Tigers by a considerable margin.
Here are the current predictions from ESPN's computer model:
- Florida defeats Texas Tech
- Duke defeats Alabama
- Houston defeats Tennessee
- Auburn defeats Michigan State
It'd be pretty cool to see all the No. 1 seeds in the Final Four. That last happened in 2008 when North Carolina, UCLA, Kansas and Memphis made it through.
Although the No. 1 seeds will be favored on Saturday and Sunday, it wouldn't surprise us at all if we see Alabama, Michigan State, Tennessee and Texas Tech pull off "upsets." All four programs are incredibly talented.
This weekend's games will be televised on CBS, TBS and truTV.
