ESPN Personality Halfheartedly Apologizes To Caitlin Clark On Tuesday

Chris "Mad Dog" Russo is tired of the Chiefs and Caitlin Clark being a fan of them appears to be a bridge too far for the sports talk legend.
After ranting about Clark's Chiefs fandom on his own SiriusXM program Monday, Russo kept it going during today's appearance on "The Dan Patrick Show."
"I'm Chief'd out, Dan. I'm Chief'd out. And now all of a sudden Caitlin Clark is a Chiefs fan?" the radio Hall of Famer asked. "Let me guess this straight, we watched Caitlin, a wonderful athlete… I never saw her once wear a Chiefs jersey, wear a Chiefs hat, have her father wear the Chiefs… and now all of a sudden, she's a huge Chiefs fan? Oh, come on!"
In a pretty hilarious moment, Patrick caught Russo with his pants down by informing him: "Caitlin Clark announced her fandom with the Chiefs years ago."
"I didn't know that," Mad Dog replied. "Did she? She's a Chiefs fan. She knows about Super Bowl I… does she know about Miami-Kansas City double overtime 27-24 for one of the most famous games in the history of the National Football League?"
That's when Patrick pulled a photo of Clark that Kansas City's social media team shared and said, "looks like she's about eight-years-old, she's with her cousins and she has her Chiefs jersey on... Would you like to issue an apology?"
"What is she Hank Stram now?" Russo laughed. "I guess. I guess. I shouldn't be picking on Caitlin Clark. I'm Chief'd out."
Clark may not have passed Mad Dog's litmus test but she's still very much a part of Chiefs Kingdom. And, considering the fact that Iowa borders Missouri, it's not too far of a stretch to think that she'd root for the closest NFL team.
That doesn't seem to matter to Russo though who— backed into a corner — issued a reluctant apology so he could keep yelling at his cloud.
