Several of Tom Brady's former teammates, coaches and competitors were in attendance at his Netflix roast on Sunday evening.

But one prominent longtime Brady rival was missing: Eli Manning.

Manning, of course, took down Brady in two different Super Bowls. He is perhaps most famous for leading the New York Giants to an upset win over the then 18-1 Patriots in the Super Bowl after the 2007 season.

The former New York Giants great took to social media to reveal his excuse for not being in attendance at Brady's roast on Sunday night. It's pretty perfect.

"I thought about attending the Roast of Tom Brady last night, but I did not want to Roast him for a 3rd time!!" he joked.

Manning's post has been liked more than 46,000 times and viewed more than 1.2 million times on X as of Monday morning.

It would've been fun to see the Mannings in attendance on Sunday night, though. Given their sarcastic senses of humor, they probably would've made for pretty great roasters of the legendary NFL quarterback.

Maybe Brady will make an appearance at a Peyton or Eli Manning roast in the future.
