Eagles Waive Wide Receiver After 8th Straight Win

The rolling Philadelphia Eagles announced a roster move on Monday.
After following a late-season collapse with a bumpy start to the 2024 campaign, the Eagles have re-emerged as Super Bowl contenders. They improved to 10-2 with a 24-19 road victory over the Baltimore Ravens, their eighth straight win.
A day after playing his fifth game with the team, the Eagles waived wide receiver Parris Campbell.
With DeVonta Smith sidelined Sunday, Philadelphia elevated Campbell off its practice squad for the second time. The 27-year-old played 28 snaps but didn't corral his lone target. However, head coach Nick Sirianni praised Campbell's blocking on a 25-yard touchdown run from Saquon Barkley.
Campbell hasn't tallied a catch since securing all four targets for 17 yards and a touchdown in a Week 4 loss to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. That's also the last time the Eagles lost this season.
It's possible Campbell re-joins the Eagles, who added him back to the practice squad a day after releasing him in October. Outside of A.J. Brown, Jahan Datson was the only wide receiver to catch a pass on Sunday.
Beyond Brown and Smith, Campbell and Johnny Wilson are the only other Eagles wideouts with a receiving touchdown in 2024. Given their lack of depth, they may either have good news on Smith's hamstring or are planning to sign back Campbell.
Those limited options haven't derailed the Eagles, who have scored 26.7 points per game this season. Barkley has run himself into the MVP conversation with a league-leading 1,499 rushing yards in 12 games.
With five weeks remaining, the Eagles lead the Washington Commands by two games for the NFC East crown. They'll look to extend their winning streak when they host the Carolina Panthers in Week 14.
