While the Philadelphia Eagles' win over the Green Bay Packers this past Sunday may have been a blowout, it was a costly one as star linebacker Nakobe Dean emerged from the game with a season-ending injury.

It was announced on Monday that the leg injury Dean suffered against the Packers was a torn patellar tendon, which will shut him down for the rest of the playoffs and likely keep him off the football field until the summer at the earliest.

Dean had six tackles and two tackles for loss in Philly's 22-10 win over Green Bay. During the 2024 season, Dean had 128 tackles, nine tackles for loss, six QB hits, three sacks, four passes defended two fumble recoveries along with a forced fumble.

But someone will need to take Dean's spot on the roster and on Tuesday the Eagles announced that linebacker Nicholas Morrow has been added to the practice squad. Morrow has been in the NFL for eight years and played 11 games for the Buffalo Bills this season.

In 105 games, Dean has started 58 games and has 468 tackles, 7.0 sacks, 43 tackles for loss, 20 QB hits, 27 passes defended and three forced fumbles.

Eagles fans might remember Morrow from the 2023 season. He started 12 of 15 games that season, finishing near the top in numerous defensive categories that season. He had 95 tackles, 12 tackles for loss, 3.0 sacks and a safety that season.

It remains to be seen if the Eagles are going to call Dean up for their Divisional Playoff Round game against the Los Angeles Rams, but he is a veteran who could offer some leadership on defense in a pinch.

The Eagles are currently favored by six against the Rams in spite of the Rams making mincemeat out of the Minnesota Vikings less than 24 hours ago.

Will the loss of Nakobe Dean be a factor in the Eagles-Rams game this weekend?
