Last year EA Sports released its first college football game in 11 years with EA Sports College Football 25. But after bringing the title back in July, EA Sports is now bringing the sequel.
On Thursday, EA Sports announced that College Football 26 would be released this summer. The announcement included a gif of college football stadiums being filled.
"We said this place would be full again – thanks to our players, athletes, and fans for filling the house with us. Let's keep that kick off energy going 'til College Football 26 drops this summer," EA Sports College announced on X.

EA Sports College Football 25 was the best-selling sports game of all-time on a total dollar basis. That outcome isn't too surprising as many people who weren't even very passionate about video games said that they were happy to get a console to give the game a try.
EA Sports paid through the nose to get the most authentic experience possible, offering $600 and a free copy of the game to any FBS athlete willing to offer their name, image and likeness for their appearance in the iconic game.
Naturally, fans in the comments have already made it clear what new features they want to see in the new game.
"Add FCS, high school for road to glory just like it was in '14, and some type of stadium builder for current schools! Can't stand reorganizing G5 schools to P5 and they have a 20k capacity lol," one user suggested.
"Can you please make it so scheduling in a online dynasty is normal. Cant even make a custom schedule. Alao why does everyone have power to edit players? It also needs a translation log like madden," wrote another.
"Add HBCU's in the game without the community having to do it please. Great game still," a third wrote.
EA Sports has a reputation for making only limited changes to its games on a year-to-year basis though. They also have a habit of removing features from previous games, only to put them back in for future releases.
Whatever expectations people may have for EA Sports College Football 26, it's likely to look and feel very similar to what we saw six months ago.
