Donald Trump will reportedly attend Saturday's game between Army and Navy.
Politico's Meridith McGraw reported last week that the president-elect will go to Landover, Maryland, to watch the 125th game between the college football rivals. Trump attended the Army-Navy game after his first election in 2016 and three more times during his presidency.
Eight years ago, he questioned the quality of play when joining the CBS broadcast.
"I just love the armed forces, love the folks. The spirit is so incredible," Trump said. "I mean, I don't know if it's necessarily the best football, but it's very good. But boy do they have spirit."
Trump may not say the same thing this time if he's paid attention to Army and Navy this season.
The Black Knights have gone 11-1, taking their only loss to a Notre Dame squad competing in the College Football Playoff. Jeff Monken's team leads the nation with 314.4 rushing yards per game behind 1,000-yard seasons from running back Kanye Udoh and quarterback Bryson Daily.
Another win would set a program record for most single-season victories.
Meanwhile, the Midshipmen are 8-3 with the nation's eighth-best rushing game. Navy was ranked in the AP's Top 25 for the first time in five years before losing three of the last five games.
Army has won the last two matchups but trails 55-62-7 in the prestigious rivalry that dates back to 1890.
"We've had a good year. You make it a great year by winning this game coming up on Saturday. Frankly, that's just the way it goes around here," Monken said, via the Associated Press. "It's a game and a season really all of its own. We don't apologize for talking about it all the time. We talk about it all the time, and it's 365 days a year."
The game between Army and Navy will begin Saturday at 3 p.m. ET at Northwest Stadium. Fans can watch on CBS or Paramount+.
