'Does She Even Practice' - WNBA Fans Call Out Angel Reese's Commitment

There aren't many athletes as polarizing as Angel Reese. Since her days at LSU, she's been a household name in the basketball community. Unfortunately, she has dealt with an awful lot of criticism over the past few years.
Reese, who earned All-Star honors as a rookie, averaged 13.6 points and 13.1 rebounds per game for the Chicago Sky this past season. She was a legitimate double-double machine for her squad. With the offseason in full force, she's trying her best to expand her brand. Earlier this week, she graced the cover of Vogue Magazine's Winter 2025 issue. In the feature interview, she talked about her love for fashion.
"It's always been both: basketball and fashion," Reese told Vogue Magazine. "I was always in my mom's closet, putting on her stuff. I liked to carry a purse. Hair done. I wanted to look put together. I still do."
Although posing for Vogue should be viewed as an honor, Reese is getting criticized by fans for this move. Some claim she's not showing enough commitment to her basketball career.
"Does she still play basketball? I be seeing her do everything but practicing," one fan tweeted.
"I ain't seen a basketball in her hands all offseason," another fan wrote.
"Yet she wonders why Caitlin Clark is favored more in the sport," a third fan said.

Reese has not addressed these remarks on social media. However, she did talk about the narrative surrounding her on a recent episode of the "Unapologetically Angel" podcast.
"People say 'Angel, how come you don't post basketball stuff?'" Reese said. "How come I have to post in the gym? What about all the other 143 women in the WNBA that don't post in the gym?"
For those worried about Reese's commitment, just know she's set to make her Unrivaled debut on Jan. 17 with the Rose Basketball Club. She'll get to show what she can do in a 3-on-3 league.
"3-on-3 is something that I love to do, I haven't been able to play competitively but I think I can work on some of my individual skills because 3-on-3 exposes everything," Reese said. "So I'm excited for it."
Maybe, just maybe, fans will leave Reese alone after seeing her on the hardwood next week.
