At long last there was a tangible update in the Aaron Rodgers free agency saga as the MVP quarterback met with the Pittsburgh Steelers today. Better yet, we have an update on how it went.
According to NFL insider Adam Schefter, Rodgers met with the Steelers for six hours and had a "positive visit" but no contract. NFL insider Tom Pelissero reported at around the same time that money was not the topic as the two have had the parameters of a contract "in place for weeks" and that all that remains is for Rodgers to make a decision.
"Aaron Rodgers spent about six hours at the Steelers' training facility today, meeting with their coaches. It was said to be a positive visit, and the two sides will stay in touch," Schefter wrote.

"The #Steelers and Aaron Rodgers have had contract parameters in place for weeks, sources say, and money wasn't a discussion point during today's visit. It was a chance for both sides to get to know each other. The #Giants also remain involved. The decision is in Rodgers' hands," Tom Pelissero wrote afterwards.

This time two years ago Aaron Rodgers had already made it clear that he intended to join the New York Jets. But the deal didn't materialize until right before the 2023 NFL Draft.
He's probably in no more of a hurry to get things done now than the Packers were to trade him back in 2023, so he might just make the Steelers or the New York Giants sweat it out.
But it appears to be pretty decisive now: Offers are on the table for Rodgers and all that remains is for him to make a decision.
In other words, the more things change, the more they basically stay the same.
