Derek Jeter's Dating History (1:21)

The New York Yankees are back in the World Series for the first time in more than a decade.

New York topped Cleveland in Game 5 of the American League Championship Series on Saturday evening, thanks to a three-run home run by outfielder Juan Soto in the top of the 10th inning. The Yankees topped the Guardians, 5-2, to advance to the World Series, where they will be facing either the Los Angeles Dodgers or the New York Mets. Major League Baseball officials have to be drooling about either potential matchup, as it should be television ratings gold for a sport that needs it on a national level.

Derek Jeter, who won five World Series titles during his time in New York, lastly in 2009, reacted on social media to his old team making the final round of the postseason.

"We're back," he wrote.

The Yankees had announced: "Your 2024 American League Champions: The New York Yankees."

The Yankees would probably be favored against the Mets and underdogs against the Dodgers, though no one has been hotter than the Juan Soto-led team heading into the World Series. New York took down Kansas City and Cleveland with relative ease on way to the World Series.

The Mets and the Dodgers will play Game 6 in Los Angeles on Sunday evening. If the Dodgers win, the World Series is set.

Who are you taking to win it all this year?
