Danny Kanell Takes Shot At Alabama After Navy Defeats Oklahoma In Bowl Game

Navy flexed its muscles this Friday in the Armed Forces Bowl, erasing a 14-0 deficit to defeat Oklahoma.
Though it wasn't much of a surprise, Navy leaned heavily on dual-threat quarterback Blake Horvath. He only completed 7-of-12 passes for 92 yards, but that doesn't tell the whole story. Oklahoma's defense had zero answer for Horvath as a runner. The talented quarterback for the Midshipmen had 155 rushing yards and two touchdowns on 18 carries. In the second half of action, he had a 95-yard touchdown run. Believe it or not, that run was the longest play from scrimmage in Navy history.
Oklahoma had a chance to steal the win at the end of the game with a two-point conversion attempt, but quarterback Michael Hawkins Jr. just couldn't escape the pressure from Navy's front seven.
Immediately after the Navy-Oklahoma game went final this afternoon, CBS Sports analyst Danny Kanell trolled Alabama's football program.
Kanell first congratulated Navy on defeating Oklahoma. He then reminded people in the same post that Oklahoma blew out Alabama earlier this season.
"God bless our troops," Kanell wrote on X.
Navy 21

Oklahoma 20
Oklahoma 24
Alabama 3
God bless our troops 🫡🇺🇸
If we're going to be fair, Oklahoma lost 26 players to the transfer portal prior to the Armed Forces Bowl. It's not like the Sooners were at full strength.
That being said, Kanell loves trolling SEC teams. In this particular case, he had an opportunity to annoy Alabama fans. It's not often that he gets the chance to do that.
Besides, Alabama fans already know how devastating that loss to Oklahoma was this season. It's the main reason why the Crimson Tide missed out on the College Football Playoff.
Alabama will finish its 2024 season on New Year's Eve against Michigan. Kickoff for that game is at noon ET.
As for Navy, it's safe to say head coach Brian Newberry has a lot to be proud of. He doubled the program's win total from last season.
