As it gets colder and colder across the United States, piping hot beverages are becoming more of a necessity than a luxury.

But for Danica Patrick, things might have been a little too hot this weekend. The former NASCAR and IndyCar star driver suffered a nasty burn injury from a Starbucks drink. Patrick, 42, showed off the gnarly injury on her Instagram Story over the weekend.

"Day 1 coffee burn," she wrote. "Starbucks 1, me 0."

Patrick's burn has been healing, but it's been a couple of days and she still needs a bandage.

The former NASCAR and IndyCar driver has been trending on social media for her comments lately, as she's become more and more political over the years.

"I love this country, and I have lived in other places. I believe when people of different opinions speak face to face, we realize we are more similar than different," Patrick has stated.

"I don't believe everything anyone says. I have been very torn over the years if I should give a (crap) about politics or just live the life I want as an example. I have been doing the latter. The reaction today is definitely interesting… since all I said was, I love this country."

Patrick has admitted that she's probably right of center and voted for Donald Trump.

"Here is where I stand with SOME current issues and politics. I am not a liberal. I am somewhere between republican and independent. I think our country should be run by someone that knows business and has integrity. I believe we should be able to speak freely," she previously wrote on social media.

Heal up, Danica!
