Dan Orlovsky doesn't see the Carolina Panthers giving Bryce Young a second chance.

On Monday, Carolina benched their second-year quarterback following two lopsided losses. Andy Dalton will instead start a Week 3 matchup against the Las Vegas Raiders, but the focus has quickly shifted to Young's long-term future. If the Panthers have already given up on last year's No. 1 pick, someone would probably pursue a buy-low gamble.

During a Tuesday appearance on The Pat McAfee Show, Orlovsky predicted that Young won't play for the Panthers again. The former quarterback feels the organization's only recourse is moving the 23-year-old.

"I think Bryce Young is done in Carolina, and I would encourage them just to trade him," Orlovsky said. "You're not going back."

Orlovsky mentioned speculation that the Miami Dolphins could check in on Young after placing Tua Tagovailoa on the injured reserve. However, he floated another potential fit.

"If I were the Los Angeles Rams, I would probably make a call," Orlovsky said.

Unlike the Dolphins, the Rams wouldn't acquire Young to keep their immediate playoff hopes intact. Instead, he'd give Los Angeles a future replacement for the 36-year-old Matthew Stafford in a season that's quickly gone haywire.

"Matthew's older. Their team has been absolutely destroyed by injuries," Orlovsky noted. "Their perspective on their season is kind of very different right now."

The Rams have already lost star wide receivers Puka Nacua and Cooper Kupp, three starting offensive linemen (Steve Avila, Jonah Jackson, and Joseph Noteboom), and two starting defensive backs (Darious Williams and John Johnson). They're 0-2 entering an NFC West clash with the San Francisco 49ers.

Baker Mayfield began his career renaissance in Los Angeles, so perhaps Sean McVay could help another former Heisman Trophy winner.

Orlovsky cited Mayfield, fellow ex-Panther Sam Darnold, Geno Smith, and former Rams starter Jared Goff among the quarterbacks who've recently turned their careers around. However, they all required a change of scenery.

"I just don't think it gets remade in Carolina," Orlovsky said of Young.
