Bubba Wallace and Aric Almirola got into an altercation back in May and it led to the latter getting suspended.

Almirola was suspended for the May 25 Xfinity Series race at Charlotte Motor Speedway after getting into it with Wallace. At the time, nobody knew why Almirola was suspended but The Athletic confirmed it in late June.

The report also states that Almirola was the instigator.

The full details of the altercation have yet to be shared and Dale Earnhardt Jr. is fine with that.

"I don't think we'll ever really know," Earnhardt said, (first transcribed by On3). "I could probably call Denny (Hamlin) and say give me the scoop, and he'd tell me. Out of respect to Bubba and Aric, it's probably best that they be the ones to tell that story if they ever want to."

Wallace and Almirola have yet to go into detail about the altercation and unless they do, the public will have to live in the unknown.

The next race in the NASCAR Cup Series will be this Sunday, July 7 in Chicago with the Grant Park 165. The Xfinity Series will also be in Chicago and will take place on Saturday, July 6.
