Cowboys Reporter Claims There's Only One Move Jerry Jones Can Make To Silence Critics

Dallas Cowboys owner Jerry Jones is under a lot of pressure this offseason.
The Cowboys are fresh off missing the playoffs for the first time since the 2020 season and haven't made it past the divisional round of the playoffs since the 1995 season.
They're also looking for a new head coach in 2025 after letting Mike McCarthy go on Monday. McCarthy had been the head coach for the past five seasons, compiling a 39-25 record.
Jones already has some interviews scheduled with coaches, including Kellen Moore and Robert Saleh, but Cowboys reporter Ed Werder thinks Jones has to go above and beyond with his hire to silence his critics.
"There is one move #Cowboys owner Jerry Jones can make that will demonstrate he's fully committed to winning at any cost, willing to spend for the best in coaching, and capable of relinquishing organizational control to do so. Pay the $10M buyout and hire Bill Belichick, who has the most Super Bowl wins in NFL history," Werder tweeted.

This would be a good idea in theory but Belichick is committed to coaching North Carolina this year. The buyout may be low but every move that he has made shows that he wants to win at the collegiate level in 2025.
He took the North Carolina job in December after the school was interested in hiring him and he did a lot of homework to prepare for coaching in college football.
During Belichick's reign with the New England Patriots, he won six Super Bowls and compiled a 266-121 record in 387 games.
His first game on the North Carolina sideline will be on August 30 against the TCU Horned Frogs.
Time will tell if Jones makes a big splash with this head coaching hire for at least the next few seasons.
