Cowboys Joined Very Small Group With Sunday's Kickoff Return Touchdowns

The Dallas Cowboys' special teams unit joined some rare air in Sunday's chaotic 34-26 win over the Commanders on Sunday.
In the fourth quarter of Week 11's NFC East tilt, Dallas returner KaVontae Turpin took a 99-yard kickoff back for a touchdown with about three minutes remaining. Only for that to be followed up by a 43-yard onside TD return by Juanyeh Thomas to seal the game in the final seconds.
Those returns made the Cowboys just the 15th team in NFL history to return two kickoffs for touchdowns in the same game, according to PFT. And only the fourth team ever to have kickoff return touchdowns by two different players.
You have to go all the way back to 1998 to find the last time that happened, when the Ravens' Corey Harris returned a kickoff 95 yards in the first quarter and wide receiver Patrick Johnson returned one 97 yards in the same frame.
With that said, Dallas is the only team to get both of their returns in the fourth quarter, which set up one of the most thrilling finishes we've seen so far this season.
The Cowboys entered the game as 10.5-point underdogs to rival Washington without Dak Prescott leading the offense. But Cooper Rush and Co. found a way to hang in there and do enough to keep the game close until the team's fourth quarter explosion.
The 'Boys are now 4-7 heading into this week's Thanksgiving Day Game vs. the similarly struggling New York Giants.
They'll host Big Blue at AT&T Stadium on Thursday at 4:30 PM ET where Tom Brady and Kevin Burkhardt will be on the call for FOX's Game of the Week.
