There are just a few days before the first college football Saturday of 2024 but one team apparently might be a bit late getting to their opponent.

According to Stephen Tsai of the Star-Advertiser, Delaware State missed its 10.5-hour flight to Honolulu for Saturday's season-opener against the Hawaii Rainbow Warriors. Per a spokesperson for the university, the school is "working on a plan" to get them to Hawaii in time for the game.

"Delaware State spokeswoman confirms Hornets missed today's 10.5-hour flight to Honolulu because of a bus snafu to JFK airport. "We're working on a plan,"'she said. DSU and @HawaiiFootball open season Saturday. ( @Garyterp was the first to report) #HawaiiFootball @StarAdvertiser," Tsai wrote.

Delaware State play in the MEAC conference in the FCS and went just 1-10 in 2023. They've produced a number of NFL players through the years but aren't exactly North Dakota State. Second-year head coach Lee Hull leads them.

Meanwhile, the Rainbow Warriors are heading into their third season under the leadership of school legend Timmy Chang. They have gone 8-18 with Chang at the helm.

The game is scheduled for Saturday at 6 p.m. Hawai'i time and will be available on Spectrum OC16.

Will this missed flight have an impact on the Hornets' preparations for the game?
