Meet The Fiancee of Travis Hunter (1:23)

The 2024 Heisman Trophy finalists were announced Monday night with no surprises, but at least one perceived snub.

The four players heading to New York City this weekend are the usual suspects: Colorado two-way star Travis Hunter, the odds-on favorite, Boise State running back Ashton Jeanty, Miami quarterback Cam Ward and Oregon quarterback Dillon Gabriel. All four were expected to be finalists for college football's most coveted award.

However, many fans think one particular player has a legitimate beef about being left home. The comments and quote tweets of the official Heisman Trophy announcement are littered with people arguing on behalf of Arizona State star Cam Skattebo.

Skattebo has rushed for 1,568 yards and 19 touchdowns for the Big 12 champs, and while those numbers pale in comparison to Jeanty's totals (2,497 yards and 29 TDs), people think the Sun Devils running back deserved to join Jeanty in the Big Apple.

"@camskattebo5 got wronged. Clearly the best RB in the country. Travis Hunter and Cam Ward didn't even make it to a conference championship. I've never disliked the #Heisman more. Legacy CFB sucks," one fan argued.

"A joke of an award. Skattebo should be on here," a second fan claimed.

"Skattebo ROBBED," a third person said.

"Where is Skattebo?" asked someone else.

"Skattebo seems to thrive on being told he's not good enough. Just sayin'" said ASU journalism professor and former College Football Playoff selection committee member Paola Boivin.

Arizona State head coach Kenny Dillingham argued on Skattebo's behalf after the Sun Devils beat Iowa State to win the Big 12 championship on Saturday.

"I do think he should be (in New York for the Heisman Trophy ceremony)," said Dillingham postgame. "I mean, turn on the tape. I mean, he's really good. Like, he's good enough to be there."

Perhaps this is all true, but unfortunately, Skattebo will watch from home. He'll have the chance to show the voters what they missed when ASU plays the Clemson-Texas winner in the College Football Playoff quarterfinals.
