College Football Fans React To Carson Beck, Ohio State Rumors

Georgia quarterback Carson Beck is reportedly entering the NCAA transfer portal.
Last month, Beck declared for the 2025 NFL Draft despite an up-and-down 2024 season with the Bulldogs. However, with one year of college eligibility remaining, the 23-year-old signal caller has seemingly changed his mind. On3's Pete Nakos reported Thursday afternoon that Beck, who suffered a season-ending elbow injury in the SEC Championship Game, will enter the portal instead of turning pro.
"Carson Beck is now in recovery and training mode, preparing for the 2025 season," Nakos wrote. "He is expected to be one of the highest-paid transfers in college football history. The Jacksonville native has one year of eligibility remaining and is expected to evaluate some quarterback-needy teams as possible destinations."
Additionally, Nakos reported that Texas Tech, Ohio State and Miami are three programs to watch for Beck. ESPN's Pete Thamel tweeted that Miami, where Beck's girlfriend Hanna Cavinder plays basketball, is "the favorite" to land him.
That seems fine to Ohio State fans on social media, many of whom are not particularly enthused about the possibility of adding Beck.
"Please not Ohio State he's awful," one Ohio State fan said.
"Stay far away from Columbus,' another OSU fan said.
"Uhhhhhhhhhh we good," a third Buckeyes fan added.
"Ohio State is a team to watch…. him go be mid somewhere else," a fourth Ohio State fan chimed in.
"If buddy wants to build his tape back up Ohio state. Hope he goes there too so we see him next year," a Georgia fan said.
Beck threw for 3,485 yards, 28 touchdowns and 12 interceptions in 2024. Overall, he threw for 7,912 yards, 58 touchdowns and 20 interceptions in his Bulldog career.
According to Thamel, Beck won't be able to throw until March and will miss spring practice, but will be healthy for summer camp, wherever he winds up.
"The timeline for a choice is within a week," Thamel reported.
