College Football Fans Caused Stoppage In Orange Bowl On Thursday

Tonight's College Football Playoff semifinal at the Orange Bowl between Notre Dame and Penn State has been a tight affair throughout.
Penn State led 10-3 at halftime, but in the second half, the two teams have traded touchdowns. Notre Dame's Riley Leonard just connected with wide receiver Jaden Greathouse on a 54-yard touchdown to tie the score at 24 late in the fourth quarter. The Nittany Lions had previously taken a 24-17 lead moments earlier on running back Nicholas Singleton's third touchdown run of the game.
Singleton's TD was set up by a controversial pass interference call on Notre Dame safety Adon Shuler, which wiped out an interception in the end zone by Irish linebacker Jack Kiser. Shuler was called for making contact with Penn State tight end Tyler Warren without turning his head back to look for the ball.
The call bailed out Nittany Lion quarterback Drew Allar, who threw a terrible ball on the play, and led to a momentary delay after some angry Fighting Irish fans threw debris onto the field at Hard Rock Stadium.
"Heated Notre Dame fans throw beers on field after very questionable pass interference call takes away their interception & leads to Penn State go-ahead TD," said NFL Network's Cameron Wolfe, including video.
"Clearly pass interference on ND and then debris is thrown from the stands. Way to keep it classy Irish. #NDvsPSU," one person wrote.
"There is one team in all of college football we can thank for fans continuously throwing trash on the field even in playoff games now to delay the game in hopes they'll have the call overturned…." a second person added.
"The fan who threw the beer bottle on the field has the best throw of the game so far," joked Next Round Live's Ryan Brown.

The ticked off fans couldn't change the call, but they didn't stay mad for long, as Notre Dame was able to tie the game on its next possession.
Now, the Irish just got the ball back with the score tied and 2:34 remaining.
Can they secure their first trip to the national championship game in 12 years?
