Colin Cowherd Has Intriguing Caitlin Clark TV Suggestion For WNBA

Colin Cowherd thinks the WNBA should have gone bolder with its television promotion of superstar guard Caitlin Clark.
Since entering the league last year, Clark has helped drive WNBA attendance and television ratings through the roof. Not surprisingly, the league is featuring the Indiana Fever standout heavily in her second season. Recently, it was announced that 41 of the Fever's 44 regular season games will be broadcast on national television.
Cowherd, however, feels the WNBA should have gotten one step further. On Monday's episode of "The Herd," the FS1 host suggested that the W should have pitched a Clark-centered package to networks for the highest bidder.
"If I was the WNBA, I would have considered a separate television package to a network on just Caitlin Clark games," Cowherd said. "I would have had two packages, the WNBA package and then a separate, let's say 15-to-18 game Caitlin Clark package. It could be HBO, it could be FOX, it could be anybody. I would have sold a separate Caitlin Clark package."

It's an interesting idea, but we're not sure if the WNBA would want to lean that much into the Clark phenomenon.
As much as the league relies on her for eyeballs and revenue, they also know there has been some resistance from within to one player receiving so much attention.
It would also be a pretty unheard of arrangement. We've never seen the NBA sell a package of just Michael Jordan or LeBron James games one network.
Anyway, whatever channel Clark and the Fever are on this spring and summer, expect a lot of people tuning in. She will undoubtedly remain the biggest show in the WNBA in 2025 and probably beyond, which is great news for all involved.
The Fever will open the 2025 regular season against the Chicago Sky on Saturday, May 17.
