For the past few years, FOX has been adamant about keeping politics out of sports. Well, it appears the network's stance on that matter has changed dramatically.

On Tuesday night, CNN's Abby Phillip pointed out how FOX on-air personalities are applauding NFL players for doing the "Trump Dance" on the gridiron. That's a huge difference from what they were saying about the league in years past. Phillip actually shared a montage of some old clips that aired on FOX.

In one video, Fox News anchor Bill Hemmer had this to say about the NFL: "They're football players and they're paid to do a job. They're not paid to take stands on social issues on the field."

Unsurprisingly, CNN also showed Laura Ingraham's rant about Kevin Durant and LeBron James.

"It's always unwise to seek political advice from someone who gets paid $100 million a year to bounce a ball," Ingraham said in 2018. "Millions elected Trump to be their coach. So keep the political commentary to yourself, or as someone once said, 'shut up and dribble.'"

The montage from CNN showed a clear double standard from its rival network.

Speaking of the "Trump Dance," it's been made clear this week that NFL players won't be disciplined for using that celebration mid-game.

"There's no issue with a celebratory dance such as what took place [Sunday] or the previous week with the 49ers on November 10," NFL spokesman Brian McCarthy said.

It'll be fascinating to see how the next few months play out for the NFL, especially with the 2024 presidential election in the rearview mirror.

If networks are going to scream about keeping politics out of sports, they need to be fair. They shouldn't just change their stance when they party is in control.
