Back in the offseason, the Kansas City Chiefs bolstered their receiving corps by signing Marquise "Hollywood" Brown to a one-year deal. Unfortunately for the defending champions, he still hasn't played a single snap for them.

Before the 2024 season opener, Brown was diagnosed with a sternoclavicular injury. He was placed on injured reserve prior to undergoing surgery. It was initially reported that he would miss months. Eventually, reporters said he'd miss the entire season. The former first-round pick from Oklahoma, however, was unwilling to provide a timeline. He simply posted a message for his fans on social media.

"Disappointed, frustrated, and Sad was the first wave of emotions once I realized I would need surgery but that only lasted a day or so because Of my Faith in God," Brown wrote on X. "Knowing that this to shall pass, no matter the great opportunity I had in front of me. It's not over and that's not the path God wanted for me and I'm perfectly fine with that now."

Although the Chiefs haven't provided an update on Brown's status, his latest social media activity has fans convinced he'll be back on the field fairly soon.

On Tuesday afternoon, Brown simply posted the alarm clock emoji on X without any context.

Is the clock ticking on Brown's return? It certainly seems like it.

If Brown returns before the end of the season, that would give the Chiefs a lot more depth at the wide receiver position. They could certainly use him, especially with Rashee Rice out for the year.

Last season, Brown had 51 receptions for 574 yards and four touchdowns on the Arizona Cardinals. When healthy, he's fully capable of being an 1,000-yard receiver.

Chiefs fans, do you think Brown will return before the start of the postseason?
