Meet The Sideline Reporters For The 2025 NCAA Tournament (1:10)

The second round of the 2025 NCAA Tournament tipped off this Saturday with McNeese State and Purdue on CBS. Unfortunately, fans aren't loving this afternoon's broadcast.

Prior to tipoff, CBS shined the spotlight on Amir Khan, the student manager for the McNeese State men's basketball team. He has become a social media sensation this March, earning NIL deals with Buffalo Wild Wings, TickPick and Insomnia Cookies among other brands.

All the hype surrounding Khan reached new heights on Saturday when he walked out with a boom box and a new jacket that had "AURA" written on the back.

While some fans found this amusing, others thought CBS ruined this fun story by giving Khan just as much screen time - if not more - than the actual players on McNeese State.

CBS.

"The McNeese student manager is not and will never be funny. CBS & Co are dragging it to make the most boring first round in the last 15 years more entertaining and it's failing.

"Did the McNeese players do anything to get to where they are!?!?!? Did their countless hours of practice, training, winning their conference pulling off the upset of Clemson mean anything!?!?!? Holy [expletive] leave it to CBS to ruin a great story bc they can't stop talking about Aura," another person said.

"Am I the only one that doesn't get the hype," a third person commented.

According to CBS reporter Evan Washburn, McNeese State has three security officers with Khan at all times. Even the special assistant to the head coach is part of his entourage.

As for Khan's bank account, he's apparently making "north of the low six figures."

This will go down as a year Khan will never forget, that's for sure.
