Meet Caitlin Clark's Boyfriend (1:19)

Caitlin Clark hasn't said much about where she stands politically, though her boyfriend has made his thoughts known.

The No. 1 overall pick in the 2024 WNBA Draft enjoyed a record-setting season with the Indiana Fever. Clark averaged 19 points and 8 assists per game, while leading the Fever to the playoffs and winning Rookie of the Year. She's reportedly passing on joining the UNRIVALED three on three league, looking to take some needed time off this winter. Clark hasn't been getting too involved in things outside of basketball, though she did make her thoughts on the election clear.

"I think for myself, I have this amazing platform, so I think the biggest thing would be to encourage people to vote," she said. "I think this is the second time I can vote in a (presidential) election at age 22. I could vote when I was 18. So I think do that, that's the biggest thing that I can do with the platform that I have. That's the same thing Taylor did," Clark said when asked about Caitlin Clark's endorsement of Kamala Harris.

"I think continue to educate yourself with the candidates we have, the policies that they're supporting. I think that that's the biggest thing you can do and that's what I would recommend to every single person that has this opportunity in our country."

While Clark has kept her opinions to herself for the most part, her boyfriend has not.

Connor McCaffery has made it clear that he leans left and was supportive of the Obamas and Kamala Harris, rather than Donald Trump.

Clark showed support for the Democratic Party heading into Election Day.

Not everyone liked McCaffery's stance.

"Connor McCaffery, how foolish and stupid to do this to Caitlin Clark's universal reputation. Did the Obamas pay you for your endorsement to connect them to CC, through you? BAD idea," one fan wrote.

Others supported his right to choose.

"He's got a right to his opinion just like we do. I've got to defend him here. He has every right," one fan added.

McCaffery, who played collegiately at Iowa, is currently working as an assistant coach at Butler. He was added to Butler's staff this offseason.

"Following a high-level playing career, Connor has had the opportunity to both contribute and learn alongside one of the best staffs in the NBA," Matta said. "Those experiences will be very valuable to our staff. He obviously comes from a basketball family that I know very well and I'm excited for the impact he is going to have on our program both quickly and in the long run."

Butler is off to a 3-1 start this season, set to take on Merrimack on Friday evening. Tipoff is set for 7 p.m. E.T. on Friday night, with the game airing on FS2.
