Caitlin Clark made good on her joke from earlier in the offseason that she's become a professional golfer on Wednesday when she participated in the LPGA's Annika pro-am event. Clark got a chance to compare her game to the best golfers in the world, and along the way, she may have learned a little bit about golf etiquette.

With the round being played as a scramble, we don't know how Clark shot on the day, but it seemed like she had some highs and some lows along the way. While she almost hit a spectator with a shot early on, she managed to rebound, with arguably her best shot of the day being her drive on the 18th hole.

After one shot in particular, Clark jumped up and clicked her heels on her way to retrieve her ball. Immediately after doing so, Clark realized she may have violated an unspoken golf etiquette rule, which led to her hilariously apologizing for her celebration.

"Sorry, it's probably not golf etiquette," Clark said right after she hit her little celebration. "My bad."

Whereas celebrating big plays on the court is what WNBA players frequently do, that's not really how golf works. A quick fist pump after hitting a tough shot is fine, but technically speaking, Clark's heel-click celebration probably wouldn't fly in the eyes of hardcore golfers.

Thankfully, the mood was fairly light and relaxed throughout the day, and with both the fans and other golfers in attendance being thrilled that Clark was actually participating in the tournament, nobody was going to complain about her pulling this move out.

While fans and golfers alike were pumped to see Clark, the Indiana Fever's star guard was likely thrilled to be around so many pros that could help her improve her game. Clark has said she shoots in the mid-80s, but she's looking to consistently hit the low 80's, so being around all these stars may have had a positive impact on her game.

With golf being her new hobby, Clark is enjoying her time away from basketball during the WNBA offseason. But before you know it, she will be back in action with Indiana for the upcoming 2025 campaign.
