Punishment appears to be coming for Bubba Wallace and his No. 23 XI Racing Team.
NASCAR's Cup Series race, the Xfinity 500, in Martinsville ended in controversy on Sunday night. Wallace, driver of the No. 23 car for 23XI Racing, was involved in the controversy on the final laps. Wallace, aware of the points situation between William Byron and Christopher Bell, slowed down on the final laps. Wallace claimed that he was slowing down due to a parts issue. On the final lap, Bell wrecked into the wall and rode it to the finish line, which is illegal.
Wallace is expected to be penalized for his car slowing down on the final lap.
NASCAR insider Bob Pockrass shared the expected news on Monday morning.
"NASCAR tore down Wallace car. Would expect if nothing broke, penalty coming to team," he reported on Monday morning.

—hard to predict Dillon/Chastain b/c didn't lose spots (don't expect anything to Byron). There isn't a no blocking rule. 100% rule but does that require risk on outside or a bump?
Wallace, meanwhile, is maintaining that he only slowed down because something went wrong with his car, though some in NASCAR are skeptical of that.
"I went loose or something broke and he's nursing it," Wallace said after the race. "And then he tried to slide me. I'm like 'Brother.' Just trying to bide our time and not crash and bring out out a caution. So that was it."
NASCAR will ultimately make the final call, though a punishment is expected to be coming Wallace and 23XI Racing's way.
