Bubba Wallace explained why he's avoiding any political statements ahead of the 2024 election.

Wallace played a pivotal role in NASCAR banning Confederate flags from tracks in 2020. His anti-racism activism made him a target for Donald Trump, who railed against a "hoax" incident of a noose found in Wallace's garage. An FBI investigation determined that it wasn't a hate crime against the only Black driver in the Cup Series.

While told to stick to sports by critics such as former President Trump, Wallace replied with a message preaching "love over hate," "even when it's hate from the POTUS."

For the third straight time, Trump is running for the presidency this November. However, Wallace declined to publicly take a stance.

In an interview with Fox News, Wallace sidestepped any political endorsements. Seeing the rise of uninformed opinions and vitriol on social media, the 31-year-old feels that investing energy in political discourse is now a "waste of time."

"I was definitely more vocal then because our sport was in desperate need of change," Wallace said.

Wallace said he's more concentrated on doing his best to spread positivity by helping others.

"My beliefs stand strong in just being good humans to other people is the best way to go about life," Wallace said. "No matter what side you're on, no matter what color you are, at the end of the day we're in this world together, and we have to make it work together. And I think I've said that from day one, and that hasn't changed. And nor will it change."
