Brittany Mahomes is ready for Sunday's AFC Championship Game.
For the sixth time in the last seven years, Patrick Mahomes and the Kansas City Chiefs will host the AFC Championship Game at Arrowhead Stadium. They'll take on the Buffalo Bills this evening for the chance to keep their dream of a third-straight Super Bowl title alive. No team that has won back-to-back Super Bowls has even made it to the big game on the third try, so Kansas City would be making history just by winning today.
Two weeks ago, Brittany Mahomes gave birth to the couple's third child, a daughter named Golden Raye. Last Sunday, one week after childbirth, she was at Arrowhead to watch the Chiefs beat the Houston Texans.
This morning, Brittany reposted the hype video her husband shared on Instagram, including a two-word message alongside it on her Instagram story.
"TODAY LFGGGGGGGGGG," Mahomes wrote.
I guess if you parse out the "LFG" it's actually a four-word message, but whatever. Either way, it's clear she's fired up.
This season, the Chiefs have only lost one game at full strength, and that was to the Buffalo Bills on Nov. 17.
The Bills are led by MVP candidate Josh Allen at quarterback. Buffalo has handled Kansas City in the regular season in recent years, but is 0-3 against the Chiefs in the postseason since 2020.
"Biggest game of his career … You got to go be an Rocky and knock out Drago," ESPN's Dan Orlovsky said on Get Up!this week about Allen.
"You gotta go get it done. You gotta go knock off the giant, Patrick's the giant.
The AFC Championship Game will kick off at 6:30 p.m. ET on CBS. Jim Nantz and Tony Romo will be on the call.
The winner of Kansas City-Buffalo will move on to Super Bowl 59, where they will play either Philadelphia or Washington in New Orleans on Sunday, Feb. 9.
