The NFL Draft is supposed to be a special time for countless prospects. Unfortunately for USC wide receiver Brenden Rice, he'll have to get through today with a heavy heart.

Rice, the son of legendary San Francisco 49ers wide receiver Jerry Rice, isn't throwing a draft party his Saturday.

NFL Network's Ian Rapoport just reported that Rice is in Dallas this afternoon for his best friend's funeral.

"WR Brenden Rice boarded a flight this morning to Dallas to be a pallbearer and give the obituary speech at his best friend Keith Miller III's funeral," Rapoport said. "Miller passed away two weeks ago today. He will be answering the call whenever it comes from the funeral."

Some fans believe this information should've been kept private, which is fair to say. Now that people know, however, they're keeping Rice in their prayers.

Rice showed a lot of potential last year at USC, recording 45 catches for 791 yards and 12 touchdowns. It was by far the best season of his college career.

Analysts expect Rice to come off the board at some point this Saturday afternoon.

In the meantime, we want to extend our thoughts to Rice and the family of Keith Miller III.
