What Bill Belichick Has Been Up To With New Girlfriend (1:12)

Bill Belichick is back in the coaching profession after a one-year hiatus, and he's not wasting any time when it comes to building his roster.

The Tar Heels have already added multiple transfers from the portal so far, and they have their eyes on one of the best players still waiting to make his decision.

According to On3's Pete Nakos, Belichick and Carolina are entering the mix for former North Carolina State wide receiver KC Concepcion.

Belichick and UNC's new general manager Michael Lombardi spoke to Concepcion's camp on Thursday, and they plan to bring him in for a visit when he returns to North Carolina following the holidays.

Concepcion has been active in his search for a new school since entering the portal, meeting with several programs over the last few days. He's met with Alabama, Colorado, Miami and Texas A&M so far, and other schools like Florida State, Penn State and South Carolina are also under consideration.

Concepcion caught 53 passes for 460 yards and six touchdowns this season, a step down from his 2023 production. Two years ago, Concepcion caught 71 passes for 839 yards and had 10 touchdowns.

The talented wide receiver may not be the only player that the Tar Heels are going after in the portal, as they still need to determine what they'll do at quarterback. Max Johnson will be back next year after breaking his leg in the season opener, but there are other quarterbacks in need of playing time in a new destination. The Tar Heels have added one of those players in former Purdue quarterback Ryan Browne.

With Johnson likely fighting for the starting job upon his return, we'll see if Belichick and his staff feel the need to go after one of the top remaining transfer quarterbacks to make things more interesting.

According to On3, the Tar Heels were interested in former Washington State quarterback John Mateer, but Mateer ultimately decided to join Brent Venables' program in Oklahoma.

We'll see where Concepcion ends up as one of the top transfer players in the country.
