Baseball Fans Had Same Reaction To Houston Astros' New Jerseys

Before starting the 2025 season, the Houston Astros unveiled their new City Connect Connect uniforms.
On Wednesday, the Astros launched a new version of their alternates. They posted a video reveal and photos of star players Jose Altuve, Yordan Alvarez, Christian Walker, and Jeremy Pena modeling the uniforms.
The white jersey and pants feature the team name in retro black font with a star and "mission patch" honoring Houston's NASA ties. On the white caps, a star is imposed inside an "A."

Fans are loving the new City Connect apparel.
"I need the jersey," a fan wrote on social media.
"Find me a retailer in Austin and I'll go buy the hat today," a fan declared.
"1000x better than the space city ones," a fan opined of last year's City Connects.
"Why do one of my least favorite teams have to have some of the best looking jerseys?" a fan asked.
"Those hats. That logo. RIP my wallet," a fan said.
In 2021, MLB partnered with Nike to create City Connect uniforms that honor their city's cultures beyond the team's typical look. Some designs have received unfavorable reviews, but Houston's "Space City" set was among the game's more popular uniforms.
The Astros nevertheless decided to update their City Connects, ditching the Navy blue uniforms for a new color scheme. Many fans gave the alterations a thumbs-up following Wednesday's reveal.
However, it remains to be seen if on-field changes will hurt the Astros in 2025.
After nine seasons in Houston, All-Star third baseman Alex Bregman signed with the Boston Red Sox. The Astros also traded superstar outfielder Kyle Tucker and reliever Ryan Pressly to the Chicago Cubs in two separate moves.
Losing two lineup cornerstones could jeopardize Houston's eight-year streak of playoff appearances. Yet it's not all bad news. Cam Smith, the top prospect received for Tucker, is making a strong case for an Opening Day roster spot with a standout spring.
The Astros begin their 2025 season by hosting the New York Mets on Thursday, March 27.
