Anthony Edwards and the Minnesota Timberwolves are on the brink of moving on to the second round of the playoffs, and the star guard was in a great mood late in their Game 3 win.

With the Wolves up big in the fourth quarter, Edwards took a page out of pro wrestling history, breaking out the D-Generation X crotch chop celebration like Triple H and Shawn Michaels.

The T-Wolves are one game away from moving on to the second round of the playoffs for the first time since 2004.

20 years ago, Minnesota was the No. 1 seed in the West, advancing to the conference finals as Kevin Garnett earned MVP consideration.

Edwards is getting the same attention this year, and the Wolves look like contenders for the championship.

Edwards has been a star all season long, and he's raised his game for the playoffs.

The former No. 1 pick is averaging 28 points, 7.7 rebounds and 6.3 assists per game in this first-round series against Phoenix.

He's already had two 30-point games in the series, including his 36-point effort in Game 3.

The Timberwolves will face the winner of the Denver Nuggets-Los Angeles Lakers series in the second round, another series that could end in a sweep.

Denver is up 3-0 on the Lakers for the second season in a row, as they also swept Los Angeles in last year's Western conference finals.

The Timberwolves and Nuggets battled all season long for the top spot, but the Oklahoma City Thunder ended up taking it after doing enough at the end of the season.

The Timberwolves-Nuggets series could have easily been this year's conference finals, but it looks like we're going to get it in the second round.

Edwards has been excellent against the Suns, and he may need to be even better if the Wolves want to take down the defending champions.
