The World's Hottest Softball Player Is Dating An MLB Player (1:33)

The baseball season is right around the corner with spring training well underway.

And in a recent player poll conducted by MLB.com, over 100 anonymous major leaguers gave their thoughts on a myriad of topics including who their most underrated peers were on the diamond.

Only one player repeated from last season's result and he stands alone this time around — six-time All-Star and Cleveland Guardians infielder José Ramírez.

According to the players, Ramírez is the most underrated in the bigs after falling just short of the second-ever 40-40-40 season in MLB history in 2024 — receiving nearly five times more votes than anyone else on the list.

"He always posts, plays every day, is always performing and is a really hard out," one American League starting pitcher said of the veteran third baseman. "He's a quieter guy in a small market, so I feel like he doesn't get as much attention as he should."

"He's not underrated, but he still doesn't get talked about enough," another AL starter added. "Shoo-in Hall of Famer. The year he had last year was nuts, and nobody talked about it."

It's pretty incredible what Ramírez has been able to accomplish since bursting onto the scene in 2017. And all the five-time Silver Slugger done since then is go about his business as one of the best corner infielders in the league.

The list was rounded out by A's rightfielder Lawrence Butler, Astros first baseman Christian Walker, Red Sox centerfielder Jarren Duran and Cubs All-Star outfielder Kyle Tucker.

You could make a good case for all of those players being overlooked by baseball media. But who else would you add to that group, if any?
