Chicago Sky star Angel Reese had a rollercoaster rookie season in the WNBA, filled with highs and lows. She quickly established herself as one of the league's top young talents, finishing second in the Rookie of the Year voting, earning an All-Star selection, and leading the entire league in rebounds.

However, the season wasn't without its challenges, including controversial moments and hurtful remarks from fans.

On her podcast, "Unapologetically Angel," she shared a particularly striking incident where a fan asked her for an autograph, but she accidentally overlooked him. This led to a hateful comment directed at her, highlighting the intense scrutiny athletes face in the public eye.

"That's why you not rookie of the year. And that white girl is better than you." The fan said.

For some reason, fans often pit Angel Reese against Indiana Fever star Caitlin Clark, leading to controversial and sometimes hateful discussions in the WNBA landscape. Despite this, both players have publicly expressed their mutual respect and admiration for each other, yet the rivalry narrative persists.

As rookies, Reese and Clark have made significant contributions to the sport, arguably becoming the most impactful players in the WNBA's history regarding its growth in viewership and business this year. Reese, in particular, has played a key role in drawing fans to the league.

Unfortunately, the Sky missed the postseason after Reese suffered a season-ending injury with just two weeks left in the season. Nonetheless, fans are eagerly anticipating her second year and what she will bring after such a historic debut season.
