Angel Reese is joining the rest of the social media world in mourning the loss of TikTok on Sunday.

TikTok officially shut down in the United States on Saturday night. The Chinese social media app, which reaches more than 120 million users in the United States, went dark on Saturday evening, as it faces a nationwide ban.

"A law banning TikTok has been enacted in the U.S. Unfortunately, that means you can't use TikTok for now. We are fortunate that President Trump has indicated that he will work with us on a solution to reinstate TikTok once he takes office. Please stay tuned," a message read on TikTok's main screen on Saturday night.

TikTok users are hoping that President Donald Trump, who takes office on Monday, will be able to reverse the decision.

Angel Reese is part of that group. The Chicago Sky rookie forward had a blunt message for President Trump on social media on Saturday evening.

Reese took to X, formerly known as Twitter, with a blunt warning for Trump and his administration on Saturday evening.

"i know one thing…EVERYTHING i ordered on tik tok shop better still be coming like im not even playing bout that😒," she posted to X.

TikTok is responsible for billions of dollars in the U.S. marketplace. Reese is not alone in wishing for its return.

Reuters had more:

Even if temporary, the unprecedented shutdown of TikTok is set to have a wide-ranging impact on U.S.-China relations, U.S. politics, the social media marketplace and millions of Americans who depend on the app economically and culturally.

The U.S. has never banned a major social media platform. The law passed overwhelmingly by Congress gives the incoming Trump administration sweeping authority to ban or seek the sale of other Chinese-owned apps.

Other apps owned by ByteDance, including video editing app CapCut and lifestyle social app Lemon8, were also offline and unavailable in U.S. app stores as of late Saturday.

Trump is set to be sworn in as the 47th President of the United States on Monday afternoon.

How long will he wait before making a move on TikTok?
