Angel Reese's One-Word Message After Historic Hailey Van Lith Game

WNBA star Angel Reese fired up former LSU Tigers teammate Hailey Van Lith after the guard went off against the Notre Dame Fighting Irish on Saturday. The TCU Horned Frogs took the 71-62 win over a dangerous opponent that featured impressive players such as Liatu King, Hannah Hidalgo, Olivia Miles and Sonia Citron.
Following her 26-point, nine-rebound and four-assist performance, Van Lith was showered with praise. Reese joined the masses and shared a three-letter message on X to celebrate Van Lith for taking her team to its first Elite Eight appearance while setting the program's single-season scoring and assists record.
"HVL," the 2023 NCAA champion tweeted.
HVL.

After today's performance, Van Lith boasts 663 total points and 202 assists for the season. Her best scoring season came in 2022-23 with the Louisville Cardinals (729), but she could eclipse that number if she keeps up the good performances. Her assists tally is the best of her college career and with two more rebounds, she will surpass her best register (168 in 2022-23).
Although they couldn't win the national championship together in 2024, and Van Lith was unhappy with the way she was used on the Tigers' offense, it doesn't seem like there's bad blood between her and Reese.
TCU will return to action on Monday against the Texans Longhorns, who beat the Tennesee Lady Volunteers in the prior round. Van Lith will have another chance to keep proving doubters wrong and enhancing her legacy with the Horned Frogs.
If they win this matchup, South Carolina or Duke will be waiting in the Final Four.
